The Hobbits

Bennett

Bennett

The Ring Bearer Bennett, born in the Hessian town Oberursel (Taunus), is the driving force and brains behind the extraordinary Hobbit journey. He is currently studying Scandinavian studies at the Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main. His adventure began with a playful vision that gradually evolved into an improbable undertaking: an intense hike through seven countries, spanning more than 2,700 kilometers. With this ambitious undertaking, Bennett aims to get to the bottom of the deeper questions of life. He is looking for untouched nature and the unbound freedom to move beyond borders in order to escape the pressure of everyday life and the demands of a performance-oriented society. For the 23-year-old student, this endeavor is not just about physically crossing different landscapes, but also an introspective journey of self-discovery. Bennett doesn't limit his creative expression to the digital format; He has also written a book that he is currently offering to publishers for publication. His long-term goal is to be a recognized writer and to entertain and inspire people with his stories.

Leo

Leo

At the age of 23, in the middle of his studies in Frankfurt am Main, Leo decided to join the great hobbit journey. As an original boy of Oberursel, he has known Bennett since kindergarten. They have already experienced numerous journeys and adventures together, but this hike promises to eclipse everything they have experienced before. Leo and Bennett not only share a long history full of shared experiences, but also an unshakable thirst for adventure that will now put them to the test. In 2022, Leo and Bennett met Luis and they quickly developed a deep friendship. This journey is more than just a physical challenge for Leo; it's an opportunity to see the world from a completely new perspective. By sleeping mostly outside and having no permanent residence, Leo wants to free himself from the shackles of everyday life and experience life in its purest form. For Leo, this hike is a chance to look beyond the horizon and delve deeply into the diversity and beauty of nature. He's all about challenging himself, expanding his boundaries and building a connection with nature that is often lost in hectic city life. He is convinced that this experience will change him and his view of the world.

Luis

Luis

Luis, originally from Karlsruhe, combines the roles of cook and bard in our group. He is currently deepening his knowledge in archaeological sciences at the Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main. His enthusiasm for Bennett's project made him want to join the hike. Shaped by twelve years in the Boy Scouts, the prospect of an incomparable adventure was irresistible. He was also magically drawn to his passion for “The Lord of the Rings” and Tolkien’s entire works. Luis longs to re-experience the beauty of nature and the communal experience of hiking. He is looking for adventure and camaraderie, convinced that evenings together around the campfire after a long day of hiking create an incomparable bond. He is always willing to support his friends and discover new things, hoping to make his passion for history and stories a part of his life in the future.
